Contemplate with your favorite saint at the Iconography Exhibition at Mount Angel Abbey Library, from July 25 through August 10, 2023.

Classical Iconography Institute continues the tradition of egg tempera iconography which began over 30 years ago at Mount Angel Abbey.  Egg Tempera is one of the oldest methods used to paint icons – one of the oldest Christian liturgical arts.  The exhibit will feature professional icons written by iconographers trained in the style and tradition of Father Egon Sandler, whose mission it was to bring icons to the West.

See inspiring icons written by students of the Classical Iconography Institute, the historic pigments of earth ochre and ground minerals we use, and several ancient icons on loan for this event.

The Mount Angel Library is open Monday through Friday from 9:00am until 4:00pm.  Free Admission
